There is a beautiful 17-km beach between Canoa and San Vicente. Canoa is a very peaceful and relaxed fishing town, with an 800m wide isolated beach, with natural caves at the cliff base north along the beach. This beach is becoming lately a meeting place for hanggliders, surfers and windsurfers. Horses are available for rent, or tours around the area.

Hostería Canoa.- Comfortable cabins, sauna, swimming pool, whirlpool, restaurant and bar. Located 600 m south of town.

Arena Bar.- Good for breakfast, pizza, fruit salads, snacks & beer. Located 1 block from the beach. They also give surfing lessons, and organize horse riding tours to the Guaché Forest, trips to the Lobster beach and The Río Muchacho organic farm (See Excursions from Bahía de Caráquez).

Posada de Daniel.- Attractive place located at the back of the village. Reservations: Tel. 05-691201.

Bambú.- A popular place on the beach. Reservations: Tel. 09-9753696.

Sun Down Inn.- A comfortable hotel with a good restaurant in Canoa. They also run a Spanish school. Located next to the Pacific Fun Cabins.

Pacific Fun Cabins.- Cabins with bath, located 1 km south of town.

El Torbellino.- (restaurant) Ecuadorian food.

Along the shore north is Cabo Pasado, a small village where monkeys can be seen in the forest. Following to the north from Canoa and 2 1/2 hours from San Vicente, is the small market center of Jama. Accommodation here is available but basic.
