The artisan's community were given the opportunity through the Chamber of Artisans of the Guayas province as well as through the City Hall to take over this large building to place their shops, exhibits and sell their crafts. Displayed with colorful stalls, beautiful fine crafts can be found here for reasonable prices. Just as an historical background, Guayaquil Artisan's building after several discrepancies in the past was finally given by Leon Febres Cordero during his presidency, who kindly supported the artisans. When this large building was finished the artisans formed an organization called P.A.C.|.P.A. (The Inter professional Association of Artisans). Actually, there are 280 exhibitions and sale booths that are attended directly by artisans. The market has been provided with music, communication systems, private guards which have been particularly employed and are affiliated to the Chamber of Tourism. |
