Jatun Sacha Biological Station | The meaning of Jatun Sacha is "big forest" in the Quichua language. A biological station and rainforest reserve situated 23 kilometers east of Puerto Napo. The reserve has around 2,000 hectares and can be reached by land or river. The Jatun Sacha Biological Station is managed by Fundación Jatun Sacha in Quito. Address: Pasaje Eugenio de Santillán N34-248 and Maurián. A nonprofit organization founded in 1985. This foundation promotes environmental conservation and education. Jatun Sacha reserve is one of the most species rich areas on the planet, with an incredible biodiversity. The entrance fee to the reserve is around US $7.00. Guides are also available.
 Accommodation
Primitive accommodation is available in the reserve especially for researchers, and students which would cost around US$25.00 per day including meals. Volunteers can stay in the reserve
at a very low cost including meals.Most Tourists stay at Cabañas Aliñahui, (Butterfly lodge) which is managed by Fundación Jatun Sacha. A complex of 8 comfortable cabins with hammocks and patio with restaurant and bar. Jungle and boat trips around the reserve are arranged by the Jatun Sacha Foundation.
