The port has always been an attractive tourist destination because it is one of the main access (same as Tena, to the jungle.
Unfortunately, the region is not a virgin jungle anymore, because it has been colonized for several decades and you'll not be able to see much of a wildlife. There is no scheduled service from Misahualli. But, you can always hire canoes at the beach for tourism (with a guide), or transport.
Bus
Frequent bus service available from the plaza to Tena. In Tena you can make all long distance connections. | | | Excursions from Misahuallí | | There are some interesting places worth visiting around Misahuallí. One is the Río Latas, about 8 km west of town. From Río Latas there is a trail known as the waterfall walk, or trail to the falls. The falls are about one hour walking upstream from the Río Latas, a very short and relaxing trip.
Another excursion can be made to Palmeras. Palmeras is a small village close to primary forest where you can see some wildlife and beautiful birds. (See also Tour operators). Or, book a tour in advance through our online Travel Agencies and Tour operators network reservation form.
