Transport

How to get there? From Quito, or Guayaquil take Tame Airlines to the city of Esmeraldas. (a half hour flight). At the airport take a taxi to the kilometer 14, via Tonchigue-Punta Galera.

There is a sign just 3 km past Tonchigue, then make a right hand turn towards Punta Galera and continue 14 km more to Playa Escondida entrance.

Bus

From Quto, the journey takes about 6 hours through Panamericana bus cooperative leaving at 11:30 from Avenida Colón and Reina Victoria corner to Esmeraldas. Once in Esmeraldas take a taxi.

Also, Trans Esmeraldas bus cooperative, which leaves from the Terminal Terrestre (11:00) in Quito, drops you off a half hour closer to Playa Escondida, in Atacames. The taxi ride will be shorter and cheaper US$15.00.
